Roseta. Memory in Resistance

Roseta is an audiovisual installation that revisits the memory of the trementinaires of the Catalan Pyrenees—women who, for generations, travelled the mountain paths carrying knowledge linked to medicinal plants and to a deep relationship with the land.

Through photography, video, sound, and walking as an artistic practice, the work approaches the traces these women left in the landscape and in collective memory. Their journeys, situated at a moment of transition between the traditional and the modern world, reveal forms of knowledge and ways of life that were gradually rendered invisible through processes of modernization.

From a contemporary perspective shaped by questions of gender, Roseta proposes a rereading of these historical figures and of the connections between body, territory, and memory. The installation weaves together image, sound, and narrative to create a space where past and present enter into dialogue.

Through the combination of photography, video, and sonic testimonies, the work frames walking as a form of knowledge and as a gesture of embodied memory.
